Hectic Morning

Last night everyone slept through the night for the first time in a long while. McKenna got her 5th star on her chart for not waking us up.
Last night after work Maya threw up several times but was fine this morning. McKenna’s Bee sting from Saturday was very swollen when she woke up this morning so much so that it was impacting her speech. We decided to take her in to the doctor. So I dropped Maya off at school and took her to the Drs. On our ride there she complained several times about feeling sick so I stopped the car and let her get out to try and throw up. She didn’t so we proceeded to the drs office. The doctor looked at her cheek and determined that it was infected and gave us a prescription for an antibiotic. While we were at CVS she again felt sick and I took her to the bathroom where the nausa passed. So she seemed fine and I took her to school. She was happy to be there and was excited to paint pumpkins. Unfortunately she turned to me with tears and said her tummy was sick. I took her to the school potty and again her nausa passed. I had no choice but to take her home with me and work remotely. I gave her the antiboictic witha snack and then some lunch. She was back to normal for the rest of the day. Her cheek is even less swollen as well.

Weekend with the girls

Carrie worked both days this past weekend and I was able to spend a lot of quality time with the girls.
Poor McKenna was stung by a bee on the inside of her mouth while eating cake at a birthday party. It is the second time in her life that she has been stung near her mouth. Nasty little yellow jackets.
McKenna has been waking me up every night to go potty. I need to put an end to this routine.
Maya is getting disobediant and we are nearing “timeouts”. She is also a speedy little girl and will run away from you if she has something in her hands that she shouldn’t.
Both girls seem to be getting better from their recent coughs.

McKenna’s Birthday Week

It was a short school week for the girls as we went up to Dallas to see the Texas vs OU game. I was up there already due to a business meeting. Friday night we went to a pumpkin patch near Migi’s. Saturday was the game day and the girls spent part of the day with Migi while we were at the game. In the evening we went to a local fair that I will post pictures to tomorrow evening… along with some video from McKenna’s birthday.
In the mean time here is a link to some photos:

Last week McKenna and I shared her first school project/homework assignment. It was a scavenger hunt. This week we need to bring them in to school and present them to the class.

Birthday Party Weekend

The girls had a party filled weekend and enjoyed every minute. Friday we went to Fall Festival for kids at a local church. There was a pony ride and bouncy houses and various kids games and prizes.

Saturday we went to a 2 year old birthday party for a little girl nammed Willow. It was at a local park and the girls enjoyed every minute. It was a bit chilly… in the 50’s and none of us was dressed appropriately.
Still the girls did not want to leave. Afterwards we spent the day moving back in to our kitchen.

Sunday was more of the same only this time it was McKenna’s. We went to Chuck E Cheese. I hated it and it was an absolute mad-house but McKenna had a BLAST. Maya had a blast but after a fistfull of McKenna’s cake she was full of hives. At least we know she is still allergic to eggs.
Short Videos:

Next weekend will be more of the same as we will celebrate McKenna’s offical birthday and her friend Fiona’s as well.

Single Parenting

Carrie had her book club meeting last night and I got home from work and had the girls all to myself. They were good for me and ate most of their dinners. Today was picture day at school so I did my best to get them dressed nicely and made sure their hair was ok. I still haven’t mastered the art of pony tails and Maya won’t wear hair clips. But breakfast wasn’t too messy and we got out of the house without much kicking and screaming. As it turned out it was just picture day for Maya and tomorrow is McKenna’s. Today was the first time I picked them up from school. When I got there McKenna was pretending to sleep on her matt with all of the other kids. The teachers looked exhausted. McKenna was very happy to see me. The teachers seemed like they were happy to see their numbers drop by one. McKenna and I walked over to Maya’s class to collect her. When we got there they were in mid lesson and doing flash cards. Maya seemed very happy and was the only child standing during the lesson. She didn’t even notice McKenna and I had walked in to her class. McKenna had to walk over to her and say “Hey Maya! Daddy is here!” “Come On!”
