Maya has an uncanny ability to pee as soon as I take off her diaper… When she is not on her changing table… She likes to pee on the floor and splash her feet. It sounds funny but she does it to drive me crazy. She has also perfected the art of slamming doors… Particularly when I need to get in or out. She is better now but McKenna seems to be coming down with it.

Sleepless in Austin
McKenna has decided to not let us sleep through the night lately. Her game has been to cry for us to help her and when one of us gets in there it is usually “I can’t find my kitty”. This game is going to end soon. One of them has woken us up for about 7 days straight. I am just waiting for Jaxson to try and get some of his former title back.
Today is the first day of the last week of in home childcare for the girls. They are oblivious for the most part but we McKenna has been told and I think she knows its coming. We anticipate a challenge with regard to sick days. Our large kitchen renovation is starting soon and my workload is increasing. We are due for a very very hectic month.
Tonight I will be putting the girls to bed by myself as Carrie has a hair appointment. The girls and I have a system down now however and it should be pretty easy.
Exhausted
Carrie has been working a ton of overtime and I have been taking care of the girls a bunch by myself. For the most part they have been good but Maya has a cold and she has been extremely clingy.
Carrie overheard Mckenna talking to her piggy bank when she couldn’t fit anymore coins in it. “are you KIDDING Me??????”. It’s funny because that is what Carrie says when she is frustrated.
Today I let McKenna have a piece of gum with the promise that she wouldn’t swallow it. It was a promise she couldn’t keep and broke down into a huge mass of tears. That is what a week without naps will do to a little girl I have come to realize. She has been such a good conversationalist lately too.
Maya has been talking a little bit more every day.
School Warm Up
Carrie took the girls to their school today for a try out. She stayed with them as they met their teachers and classmates. Maya was a little hesitant at first but loved it after a while.
When I came home today both girls ran as fast as they could into my arms. It doesn’t get any better than that.
This past weekend was really busy. Friday night the Kleeman’s came down to play at our pool and share some pizza. Saturday McKenna had her dance class and then we went to Brynn Cuellar’s Baptism and reception.
McKenna tried on a red wig while there:

Sunday I had the girls all to myself and we kept ourselves very busy. They helped me clean the inside and outside of my car… and took solid naps. We then all went grocery shopping together and it went really smoothly. While I was washing the car McKenna was ready to get it dirty:

Maya has been talking a lot more and has just been a little riot. She does whatever her big sister does.

Haircut for Maya & Orosco Visit
Yesterday we went out to eat with the Oroscos who were in town for business. Maya was unruly at dinner and was very challenging but we made it out of there without too many scars. Afterwards we went out for ice cream… really custard at a place called Sandy’s. We got Maya a lemonaide but she insisted on having some ice cream… so we gave her little pinky tastes and she didn’t have a reaction at all. So our fingers are crossed for the egg allergy. One possibility is that custard doesn’t have eggs in it. Here is a cute picture of the girls:

Today Carrie took the girls to Toys R Us and got Maya a much needed haircut. This is the best picture I could get:
