First Dance Lessons and Couch Cave

McKenna had her first dance lessons on Saturday and loved it. She wanted to go back in for another lesson as soon as it was over. She did tap and ballet. Carrie brought the video camera but apparently the only way she could see her was through a monitor. I am not sure why they did it that way but it didn’t matter to McKenna one bit.

When I got home from work today Carrie was in the middle of a marathon house cleaning and all of the couch cushions were off the couch. A cave was assembled and some pictures were taken by myself and McKenna:

Fast Forward

Our trip back to see family and friends that we hadn’t seen in 5 years was really nice. What it really felt like was that I fast forwarded a story. You picture people to look and act exactly the way you last remembered them but when you see them they have grown up, grown older, matured and changed. Its hard to put it all in words. The girls other than being sick enjoyed meeting all of the new people and experiencing all of the new experiences. The funny thing with them is that things that I thought would impress them… tall buildings, lots of people etc barely seemed to register. Every night they were up past their bedtimes.. and past ours as well. Since we all stayed in the same room essentially the whole time I think there was too much distraction. Maya would frequently stand up and talk with McKenna or call for me using various call signs. Such as Daddy, Donald, Mickey, John and Babe.
We tried to take McKenna to FAO Shwartz a few times with no luck. One of the attempts it was closed and the other she fell asleep in the backpack on the way there… on the subway no less. She was fighting a cold and I think it just wiped her out. We walked though St Patrick’s Cathedral, toured Central Park a few times and visited old favorite restaurants each of them fun in their own way.

Home day 2

Carrie is once again using our only computer so I am writing again from my phone. McKenna and Carrie went to the gym tonight. Lilly, Mckenna’s friend was there as well and they played together in the child care center. Evidentally the two of them approached the teacher together and said, “I have to use the potty and go pee pee” and “I need to use the potty to have a huge poopie”.
Hopefully Carrie will share the computer tomorrow so that I can share pictures from our trip!

Home again home again

We got home yesterday around 2pm and we were exhausted. The girls took a late nap AND went to bed early. I am writing this entry from my phone since Carrie is using the computer. Tomorrow night I will be posting pictures and video from our trip.
Tonight Mckenna jumped off of her new carseat box and smashed her face into the windowsil. I expect her to have a shiner tomorrow.
They jumped back in to their routine today without missing a beat.

Eve of our big trip

Tomorrow we leave for a whirlwind tour of Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York City. Maya has a cold with a fever and chest congestion just in time. We are excited and worried about traveling with such a sick little girl.
We are going to see Uncle Jeffrey and Aunt Beverly and cousin Jeffrey. After that we will stop and see my Grandmom Todor.
I can’t wait for the girls reaction to the cities. It should really fun if everyone stays healthy. McKenna felt a little warm tonight as well. Fingers crossed.
