The last two days have been trying to say the least. With the new patio door being installed the girls and I have needed to stay in the back rooms of the house. Otherwise every time I turned my back Maya was making her way to the power tools. We had a good time though… and took several walks and went to the playground a few times on Thursday. We also played in the yard.
Carrie was working late both days so it was the three of us for most of the day.
Friday I insisted that Carrie leave the car home with me so that I could take the girls places…. oh how I wish I didn’t do this. We got out of the house early… 9AM… I thought that the zoo was open at 9 but it opens at 10am. We got there too early to just wait around so I decided to go to a nearby playground. On the way to the playground Maya started crying but I didn’t think anything of it… I chalked it up to her being sick of her car seat. When we got to the playground I let McKenna out first and told her she could go play while I got Maya out of the car. I got Maya out and I smelled poo immediately. I was prepared as I brought a box of wipes and an extra diaper just in case. Maya usually has a morning poo by 9 but she didn’t yet so I planned accordingly. What I didn’t prepare for was the unholy hell that she unleashed on me… As I was carrying her to the back of the car I felt something sticky in my hand. My first thought was that it was left over snack. Unfortunately it was not that and she had pooed so much that it had perforated her diaper. Not only was it on my hand but it was all down her legs and all over both of our clothes. I cleaned her up and stripped down myself and threw out the diaper(of course the trash can was on the other side of the park and I needed to run shirtless across the playground to throw it away… all of the moms at the park looked at me like I was some sort of freak.) McKenna decided that the theater in the back of the car was far more interesting than the playground and stuck with us the whole time. Needless to stay we had to return home to change as Maya and I had no clothes.
We did go to the zoo finally and had a great time. The day was just as crazy after that followed by a frenzied rush to the Kleeman’s house for dinner the minute Carrie got home from work.
Today was much better. The door is nearly completed and work has stopped on the house for the time being.. at least until work begins on the porch.
McKenna’s appetite has been off the charts lately. She ate Mac n Cheese for lunch and half of my sandwich.. which she snookered me out of by asking for a bite and she wanted to ‘hold it’. I see this is how the pattern begins… I need to start making her a sandwich when I make myself one. It was a rainy day and we spend the majority of the day indoors trying to organize and clean up. The girls made it very challenging to get anything done. Carrie took a bad fall off of the desk chair trying to put something on a shelf… she is fine today.. but I anticipate pain tomorrow as it was a really bad fall. She was mad a me because I didn’t catch her… I would have needed to be Spiderman.
