The Life of McKenna and Maya

Maya woke us up again last night and she was rashy this morning as well.
Yeserday Carrie and the girls played with the kids across the street. It has been in the upper 80’s here all week (today is supposed to get up to 88 and possibly break a record!) and the girls were in their bathing suits playing in the mud. So when I walked in from work there were two little naked girls waiting for me at the door. Very funny.
Last night I went to the gym and left Carrie by herself to put the girls to bed. Apparently the girls were in rare form and it was a challenging night for her. One tidbit that happened to be funny was that McKenna was climbing on Maya’s yellow chair while Carrie put Maya’s PJs on. She fell head first behind the chair. When Carrie went over to see if she was ok she found McKenna laying on the floor. She asked her if she was ok… McKenna replied, “Yes I just thought I would lay here for a while”. Carrie said that McKenna acted like she was embarrassed that she fell.

Maya was up last night at 3AM. For no reason that we could tell. She has generally been pretty whiny for the last several weeks.
We all had a nice time yesterday after work. We walked down to the field and tossed the ball for Jaxson while the girls ran around and picked up sticks etc. It was about 85 degrees so the girls were pretty sweaty when we got home.

Maya has been trying hard to expand her vocabulary lately. If you listen closely when you are talking she has started to parrot everything. So at dinner last night we played the ‘SAY’ game. The best part about it was that McKenna joined in…. or should I say took over and started feeding her words to say. The two of them giggled after each exchange. It was great theater.

Maya has still been getting up EARLY and I need to adjust my entry times. I used to have more time to write.

Yesterday Carrie was home with the girls. She took them to the Library, made the dinner menu for the week, went food shopping, cleaned out the fridge, did all the laundry and made dinner. I came home and played with the girls, read the library books, admired the clean fridge, ate the dinner, and marveled at home much Carrie got done once again. The girls were happy and in splendid moods.
Maya was as rashy as ever and was very itchy. We are going to make an allergist appointment next week for both girls.
For breakfast this morning I made frozen waffels with strawberry cream cheese. Maya loved it… McKenna hated it.

Grammy and Migi arrived on Friday to take care of the girls. Carrie and I went out with friends Friday night and to a wedding on Saturday. Both McKenna and Maya had a great time and I think the grandmothers did as well. McKenna was very upset that Grammy was leaving and was quiet after she left.
She bounced back this morning and wore her sunglasses all through breakfast. Pictures will be posted later.
