This weekend was what the family needed. Lots of quality time together.
Saturday I took McKenna for a bike ride. She had me sing her songs the entire time. Bruce Springsteen songs…”Waitin on a Sunny Day” and Bob Schneider’s “Captian Kirk” among them. The funny thing is that if we passed something that she was interested in.. she would say… “What was that Bruce?”. Very funny! The chain fell off while were were riding up a hill. I had to get her off the bike while I fixed it. She stood there very patiently and waited. We really had a nice time.
Later in the day we went to a birthday party for girl just about McKenna’s age. They had a moonwalk/bouncy house. Along with lots of cake, ice cream and pizza. Both girls had a grand time. Maya played with wind chimes and balloons. While McKenna ran around non stop with all of the other kids her age. She is really starting to interact like a little girl. She plays little games and stories with other kids… its a blast to watch her. Both girls were sweaty and exhausted when we left the party and were almost falling asleep in the car ride home. It was only 5:30!!
Sunday we went for a walk in the woods. Maya was in the backpack on my back while McKenna alternated walking with riding on Carrie’s back.
Later in the day Carrie took McKenna to a kids ballet. SHE LOOOOVED it. Not surprised one bit. She wanted to wear her ballet shoes and a dress.
Maya spent lots of quality time with me… we had fun interacting all day together. Its very rare that she and I get to spend uninterrupted one on one time. She is such a loving and affectionate little girl.
I love my family.
