I fed Maya some scrambled egg yolks and she exploded in hives on her face. I immediatly gave her some children’s benedryl and it calmed down before I left for work. Scary. McKenna was worried too.
Carrie to the girls to the Library yesterday after work. Maya was waving her hand like the Queen of England and saying “hiiiiiiiiieeeee” to everyone that passed her.
McKenna was trying to make friends with an unsocialable clerk at the library. He was not a kid person and apparently was visably annoyed by McKenna’s flirtations.

Maya was unstoppable this moring. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her for a second. She would be around the corner in to the bathroom in seconds flat or in to Jax’s food.
Breakfast was uneventful and McKenna and I worked on the day’s of the week.
Dulce was late arriving today.
Here is a photo from yesterday.

We had a really nice weekend. Last night we went to a friend’s house for a BBQ. McKenna and Maya were the stars of the event and received lots of attention. Watermelon was served for desert and McKenna needed to be disrobed down to her underwear to eat it. She was like fly paper by the time she was done.
We think we have found our Nanny. Her name is Misty and she is in her early 20’s and has good experience. She is definitly more expensive than some other options but at the end of the day it is what is better for the girls and not whats best for our wallet. Nanny is still a cheaper option than a daycare.
McKenna is increasingly sad when I leave for work… I hate to leave. She asks me every day if she can come with me.
Maya just wants to walk and is obsessed with Jax food bowls. Everything is going in her mouth and she doesn’t want to be fed by us anymore. She learned how to say “eeei eeeeI OOO” this weekend.

I can’t believe July is almost over and Maya will be 11 Months. The year has truely flown by. I am having technical issues with the video camera so I may not be able to upload a video unless I buy a $30 cable.
We interviewed another candidate for our open Nanny position today. She would have been fine if she spoke well. I don’t want the girls to think using the word ‘ain’t’ is the correct way to speak. We have 2 more interviews today. Hopefully we will find someone close to what we need.
The girls were especially challenging last night for some reason. I couldn’t keep Maya out of Jaxsons food and water dish. All Maya wants to do is try to walk right now.
McKenna was acutally pretty good until potty and bath time. She threw a bunch of bath toys at Maya.

What a challenging week. We made it through so far. Last night when I arrived home the girls and I played on the ‘bunny boat’ and burried a treasure (piggy bank). I think the time was well spent.
After this week I think I have a better idea of what it would be like to be a single parent. Can I do it? Yes. Would I want to? No. I think yesterday I was in a state of perpetual motion the entire day until I went to bed.
Even though I was dog tired I couldn’t sleep and neither could the McKenna or Maya apparently. Based on the facial expressions of Carrie this AM I am thinking she didn’t either. I wonder if she was blessed with the same song stuck in her head all night. “In the Jungle the Mighty Jungle the Lion Sleeps tooonight…. AWheemawa Awheemawa” I made the mistake of playing that on YouTube when I was washing the dishes to entertain them while they ate their fruit. Little did I know that it would haunt me until this AM.
Tonight I am going to try and capture a small video of dinner time and post it tomorrow.
