McKenna now has what Maya has recovered from. She has a really high fever runny nose and a cough. She had a very full day though. School, ballet and then the little girl from across the street came over to play. Her fever shot up before dinner and she didn’t eat.
Maya was practically back to normal and running around like a crazy girl.
Sunday I let Mckenna watch Beauty and The Beast. She teared up when the Beast was turned back in to a prince. She is just like her mommy.
Maya’s health has me really concerned. She has be sick constantly and on Saturday her fever shot way up. Yesterday it was much better but she seems to be in pain when she drinks. What concerns me is that we can’t tell what is allergy related versus the flu or a cold. She gets rashy now when we give her corn on the cobb. So we are going to try to eliminate more things from her diet including gluten and see what improves. Additionally we are going to get her an air filter for her room and get her a new rug.
McKenna has had a cold as well but is not as impacted. She has been a happy little girl. I went to both of their parent/teacher meetings on Saturday and both girls are doing very well. McKenna apparently is one of the more popular kids in her class and has a lot of friends. The funny thing is she doesn’t mention any of them. They also said she is very emotional and we have witnessed that at home as well.
We have a busy week together. Carrie is working seven days straight. Below is a picture of the girls this weekend at costco. Maya was laying down and Mckenna was sitting on a case of beer.
I have been very busy with work and haven’t been able to keep up with my posts. Right now I am in an airport writing this. I called the girls a few minutes ago and McKenna told me that she has grown up. She also said that she let the monkeys out of their cages at the zoo. Carrie had off today as the girls school was closed. I will be home tomorrow and will post some photos of the girls from the past weekend.
Halloween weekend was a nice one. The weather was beautiful and we had a nice time as a family.
Saturday morning we went to the Travis Country Family day where there were games and activities for the girls. Here is a video of one of our house dancers:
That evening after a quick dinner it was time for Trick or Treating. The girls were both bats and loved their costumes. Carrie and I were Coneheads. They really both got it this year and just enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. We returned home by 8:30 and they were very ready for bed.
Maya is sick again and McKenna’s bee sting has healed but the antibiotics have caused her to have bad diareea. Maya has a fever and her chest is very congested… you wouldn’t know it by her mood.
Last night everyone slept through the night for the first time in a long while. McKenna got her 5th star on her chart for not waking us up.
Last night after work Maya threw up several times but was fine this morning. McKenna’s Bee sting from Saturday was very swollen when she woke up this morning so much so that it was impacting her speech. We decided to take her in to the doctor. So I dropped Maya off at school and took her to the Drs. On our ride there she complained several times about feeling sick so I stopped the car and let her get out to try and throw up. She didn’t so we proceeded to the drs office. The doctor looked at her cheek and determined that it was infected and gave us a prescription for an antibiotic. While we were at CVS she again felt sick and I took her to the bathroom where the nausa passed. So she seemed fine and I took her to school. She was happy to be there and was excited to paint pumpkins. Unfortunately she turned to me with tears and said her tummy was sick. I took her to the school potty and again her nausa passed. I had no choice but to take her home with me and work remotely. I gave her the antiboictic witha snack and then some lunch. She was back to normal for the rest of the day. Her cheek is even less swollen as well.
